Ruthin trip

I went to the the Ruthin art gallery last Monday and it was very interesting. It was full of contemporary work from artists all around, not just local.

This piece is one that grabbed my attention. I’m a very big fan of history and this just screams it to me. It’s filled with maps, pictures and letters. I just love this piece. I enjoyed reading the information that went with it. It was very intriguing.
I found this painting very beautiful. It’s very simple but it’s effective because of the writing that’s included in the painting.
This really fascinated me. I just love looking at things that comes from history. There’s just so much to learn about what’s happened in the past that leads us to where we are right now. It just makes me think about history when looking at little objects that have been collected.
This bowl made me laugh a little. I have a memory that I thought about when looking at this in the gallery. My dad has a bowl that looks very similar. He would moan at me if I’d put random things in it. He used to say ‘it’s not for holding things, it’s for looking at!’ He said that about most things he owns that hold stuff.

It was definitely a different experience looking in this gallery.
